One Mean Vega Kammback

Yesterday, we featured a 1998 V8 Cougar made into a shooting brake.  Today, we have a Vega  Kammback shooting brake made into a V8 monster.

Vega V8 conversions pop up from time to time, but a converted wagon is fairly rare.  Of course, this isn’t exactly a sleeper, with the giant hood and massive exhaust, but there could be ways to remedy that.  Given the light body and small block Chevy stroked to 383 cubic inches, this should be a lot of fun in a straight line. Fortunately, this also has disc brakes to slow it down.

Front end is unmistakably Vega, but with a monster hood that looks like it came off of a modified Camaro.

Rear end is pure Kammback!  Note Centerline (or Centerline-style) wheels at rear.  Apparently, the seller has the original steel wheels to match the fronts.

Interior shows a combination of stock and race bits, notably with racing bucket seats.  Later support isn’t a concern here, as any racing this car does will be on a drag strip!  Note how much the cowl induction scoop impacts the driver’s view.

Here’s the modified 383, which should move this little Kammback quite nicely.
