Eckler’s 1969 Corvette Shooting Brake

Here we have an incomplete 1969 Corvette Sport Wagon shooting brake project. According to the seller, this is a relatively low mileage Vette. A previous owner started the project in the 70s and passed away before it was completed.  The car then went into storage for 30 years or so.

There were a few kits out there to make this sort of thing, but they’re pretty unusual.  This seller claims this is an Eckler’s kit.  That company is still around, but the mold to make this kit is gone.  If that’s true, this is a pretty rare opportunity to finish someone’s 70s custom project.  Supposedly, the glass and other parts needed to finish are included in the sale.

Purists, of course, will lament the kit on such a low mileage ’69 Vette!  This one, however, is equipped with an automatic and the seller does not specify engine, so it’s not likely anything tremendously rare.  The sub-$15K asking price reflects that, as well.

The car is prepped for paint and the process had actually started.  You can see some overspray from painting the door jambs.

The shape is, well, unique.

Here’s the shooting brake money shot.
