Quickie: Respect the wagon

This ’71 LTD Country Squire is shockingly well preserved.  Who knows why?

This particular one is slightly older than the one once owned by your humble host’s grandparents.  That was a coppery-rose-on-brown LTD II and was believed to be  a 1977 model.  It was well known for its surprising torque (it also had the 400) and for having quite possibly the best automotive AC ever.  Back then, no one wanted to be seen in it, but now it has retro charm.

Feel the awesome.

CB is a fantastic touch!

Seating is pure genius, though it does take away the tailgunner position common to similar wagons.

Description:

This wagon is a stunner. We are really pleased to offer this 1971 Ford LTD Country Squire for consideration. The iconic Country Squire wagons are a blast from the past, but none are ever found in such excellent condition. Brought to us by a collector that stored this vehicle in his large collection, this wagon looks like it came out of a time machine with low miles.
The Country Squire’s came in many different options. This one features the upgraded engine 400 cubic inch 6.6L Cleveland V8. It is a ten seater with three seats in the first two rows, and then two (2-seat) benches facing inward in the far back (they do lay down for storage). It features a 3-way “magic tailgate” that comes out like a normal door with the window up or down, or folds down like a tailgate.
This is the ultimate family weekend vehicle, and a lot of fun to drive. The interior is in excellent shape as if it were delivered from the dealership today. The interior is in excellent shape as if it were delivered from the dealership today.
