Live The Country Squire Lifestyle

This is a real opportunity for just the right person.  Here we have a delightful 1971 Ford Country Squire wagon with some recent work done, but with is currently not running.  If you’re handy with wrenches, you should be able to get the 400 V8 running fairly easily (?) and then start thinking about cosmetics, if that’s your sort of thing.

In the seller’s words:  “engine has something going on, not able to start?”

I’m not sure if that means it won’t crank or it won’t run.  Not cranking only has a few causes and shouldn’t be bad.  Cranking but not running could be a great many things, many of which are low-cost, though not all.

I’d want a lot of questions answered on the mechanical side, but this really isn’t a bad deal for this type of tank.  Pre-1975 means even a Californian can do pretty much anything from and engine standpoint…

This has the original LTD front end without the fancy enclosed headlamps of some other generations.

As the seller states, “woodgrain vinyl and trim contact paper is in need of replacement.”  I’m glad the material is correctly called out as contact paper.

Dash is classic early 70s and appears to be in pretty good shape.  The HVAC controls and radio are on the driver’s side for a cockpit-like feel!

Okay, that was not done for cockpit feel, it was done to allow knee room for a middle passenger on the large front bench seat.

Rear bench is good for another three people.

But wait, there’s still more!  Four more people fit back here, making this technically a ten-seater!

Here’s the 400 – this was a derivative of the Cleveland family; so it shares some bones with the Oddimotive 1970 Mustang Grande’s 351C.
