Dream Pinto? Squire Wagon Four-Speed!

The seller provides some good info here an beg good questions:  “When is the last time you saw an early 72 Squire in respectable condition and when might you see one again?”

I don’t know I last saw a ‘nice’ Pinto Squire and I don’t know if I’ll ever see another, particularly a four-speed car.

This is a claimed original 50K mile car, so, in the Pinto Squire world, it doesn’t get much better!  To many, however, that might be a huge qualifier.

Yellow and brown kind of reminds me of the chocolate and banana sister product to the red, white and blue ‘Bomb Pop’ the ice cream man used to bring ’round.

The apparently fading gives the faux wood an almost authentic appearance.  Almost.  Hubcaps and thin white walls will let others know your Pinto is legit.

Damn, that’s brown and in good shape.  I think they bought vinyl from the same supplier to Datsun, based on my own 280Z.  Also, the steering wheel is the same as in my 1970 Mustang. The shifter is all business here – who needs a center console?

Back seats may never have been slept on, but who knows what sort of funny business went on back here in the 70s.

This was actually a pretty practical family car when babies didn’t need car seats.  Rear-facing would make access tough with two doors today, but maybe you could insert the child through the cargo area?

You could pretty much eat off this engine compartment.  I like the big air cleaner for the small engine.  This also appears to have a large-capacity washer reservoir, which is – well – something.

This is an early 1972 Ford Pinto Squire.  It’s a true 50,000 original miles car and it is complete down to the original fan shroud.  I also feel the need to point out that this car is So. Cal rust free and even more important has NEVER been in an auto accident.  A lot of people like to use the word “survivor” to describe their classic car when they’re looking to sell it.  The more important question is, how well did it survive?  Take a good look at this car if you’re truly interested.  When is the last time you saw an early 72 Squire in respectable condition and when might you see one again?  I’m not afraid to show good pics of the underneath of this car at all.  In fact a 40 year old car and with only minor surface rust on the undercarriage is a rarity and an asset for true classic car enthusiasts.  The history of this vehicle was verified with the original owner, in addition to this signs of a low mileage car are everywhere.  With that it runs and drives like a 50K mile car should, very smooth.  The cooling system has been flushed, brakes adjusted, new master cylinder, new distributor, new water pump, new water neck outlet, new thermostat, and new battery.  The wood grain was redone over the years and although it’s not flawless, it shows well.  The paint is thin in spots and there are a few small dents and scratches.  The a/c system is complete as I mentioned, down to the fan shroud, but does need to be completely gone through after 40 years now.  Overall this rare car is in pretty nice shape inside and out!

We are more than happy to answer any questions.  Please do so prior to bidding.  We will be happy to assit you with the auto transport company of your choice.
