1975 Pinzgauer 710K

The Pinzgauer 710 was a military vehicle manufactured in the UK by Austria’s Steyr-Daimler-Puch (now Steyr Motors) from 1971 to 1985 and which was used by many a military around the world. This is also one of the best off-road vehicles ever made, although it’s not the best on-road vehicle, given four cylinder power and significant mass.

This example is a full hardtop wagon, as opposed to some of the pickup and soft top versions and that’s called out by its “K” designation.  The seller claims he had a mechanic go through it when he bought it (when?) and that it starts every time. The car is in Delaware, but has a California title, which might ease and CA concerns. With 1500 hours, it hasn’t been driven a whole lot.

Interestingly, UK production of the later version of this truck went on until about 2008 under American owner, BAE systems. It seems to be out of production, but the company does provide fleet service and the long production run means there are a lot of parts out there.

The look here is utilitarian, as one would expect. The closest think is probably a Volvo C303, which serves the same purpose.

All side doors are front-hinged and cab-forward may be an understatement.

Front end is suitably militaristic and we like the nearly-UN-white paint on this one.

From the rear, this wagon version could pass for a civilian SUV. The soft top versions have a harder time pulling that off.

Cockpit appears to be in great shape here.

We love the idea of trying to figure out all of these controls using high school German skills.

Here’s the second row. These were made to be reconfigurable, with the option of more seats or taking them all out to haul a couple pallets.

Here’s the cargo area behind the bench.

When did you last check your Betriebsstunden (hours of operation)?

California Truck. One of the best ones you will see around. Rare to find a 710K radio truck. Take a look at the pics. Less than 1500 hours which if you figure it was driven an average of 30mph it has right around 45K miles on it. When I received it I had my mechanic go over it and do everything it needed from new tires to master cylinder for brakes and much more. Starts up everytime. If you haven’t seen one of these look up all the videos on youtube. It is the European version of the Hummer but better.

Clean California title. For sale locally so I have the right to end the auction early. Call or text with any questions 302 xxx-xxxx.

Vehicle is sold AS-IS.
