This thing reminds us of Good Morning Vietnam.  Also, does the neighbor have a Sunbeam Alpine with hardtop?!

This is one of our favorite shifters ever.  Your humble host had the pleasure of riding in a 2CV once – truly a memorable experience!

The seats are also awesome.

0.425 litres!

Offered for sale is this wonderful little 1955 Citroen 2CV AZ-U Truckette/Fourgonette in absolute, remarkable condition; it is an original French car from the Mustard capital of the world, Dijon – France (before being imported into the US of A quite some time ago).  Extremely rare survivor with the older body style (I belive the tight corrugation on the hood and side panels – no side windows – stopped in the mid to late 50’s).  This French classis is in excellent condition throughout as it was completely restored just a few years ago by the previous owner(s).  This was not a cheap, easy or amateurish restoration, but an all out, very well performed undertaking and it really shows!  Even the extire frame was replaced.  The exterior is a gorgeous two-tone Grey and plum.  No rust, very solid West Coast car.  The seats and door panels were re-upholstered in a tweed-like dark plum heavy fabric.  The interior was also restored, re-painted, etc.  Everything was gone through and works just as it should.  Just in the last couple of years, additional work was done to keep this beautiful Franch classic in perfect operating mode (a new battery, new brake cylinders, new master cylinder – most parts acquired directly from distributors in France, a complete tune-up, etc.). This nice little Citroen doesn not have the 602 cc engine which was not available until much later, but it manages OK on its original (puny, but VERY economical) 425 cc – 26 CU IN motor.  The car is a real pleasure and a lot of fun to drive and of course to take to car shows!  What a hoot! You can take this classic on the highways if you must, but stay in the right lane since you will get passed by just about everything else!  Of course you’ll think you are cruising along nicely when the car next to you is keeping up with you, but that’s only because they are busy gawking at this strange, but oh so cute little car.   Anyway, here is your chance to own a very rare, very French icon automobile in as near perfect and operable condition as they come – that includes the quirks and the bare bones approach to operating it – Vive la Difference!  This car is not for everyone, but its true value – both monetary and historical will assuredly be understood and appreciated by the true connoisseurs.  Mais attention!! It will not be given away or be sold cheaply – kind of like a really fine French wine or rare Champange…  Reserve is in the mid teens 🙂  So, Que le meilleur gagne! Happy Bidding and Bonne Chance!
