Here we have what claims to be a factory original Starsky and Hutch edition Torino. What’s not to love?
Well, if you didn’t love the show, you shouldn’t care about this car, as it’s just a 351 two-barrel Gran Torino with Hollywood magic stirred in. Also, someone went a bit custom on the interior of this one, and the color-keyed Grant GT wheel just doesn’t work for us.

Up for auction is a 1976 Ford Gran Torino Starsky & Hutch Edition that was just recently donated to a national charity and is now being sold.
This Gran Torino is equipped with a 351 C.I. 8 Cylinder engine and Automatic Transmission. Odometer reads 15,752 Miles (5-DIGIT Odometer). It appears to have all the standard equipment. The exterior is Red in color with Starsky & Hutch Factory paint scheme. Please see photos for more detailed description of vehicle and its overall condition.

IN RESPONSE TO THE POPULARITY OF THE TV SHOW, “STARSKY & HUTCH,” FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAD 1,000 GRAN TORINOS SPECIALLY PAINTED FORD BRIGHT RED WITH WIMBLEDON WHITE RACING STRIPES OVER THE TOPS AND DOWN THE SIDES OF THE CARS.
ALL THE FACTORY PRODUCED UNITS WERE BUILT AT FORD’S CHICAGO ASSEMBLY PLANT IN EARLY 1976 AND BEAR THE DSO NUMBERS, 0022.
LESS THAN 100 OF THE ORIGINAL 1,000 PRODUCED ARE KNOWN TO EXIST.
IN ADDITION TO THIS PARTICULAR GRAN TORINO BEING A FACTORY BUILT STARSKY & HUTCH EDITION, THIS CAR HAS BEEN FULLY RESTORED TO THE EXACT MOVIE CAR SPECS, MEANING THE WHITE STRIPE HAS BEEN PAINTED WITH A BLACK PIN STRIPE SURROUND AND FITTED WITH ALUMINUM SLOTTED MAG WHEELS LIKE THE MOVIE CAR.
THE RADIO CODE “ZEBRA 3” WAS EMBROIDERED INTO THE FRONT SEAT HEADRESTS. BLACK WITH RED PIPING UPHOLSTERY.
THE CAR IS ALSO EQUIPPED WITH THE FACTORY CENTER CONSOLE FLOOR SHIFT AUTOMATIC AND A GRANT STEERING WHEEL.
