2004 John Cooper Works Mini Rollover Victim

This is one of the best opening images we’ve ever seen for an ad.

First – we hope everyone involved was okay.  Here’s the seller’s explanation:

“This car was involved in a low speed accident in the driveway where it rolled over. Wife hit clutch instead of brake downhill.”

It’s hard to picture what happened, but the bottom line is that a John Cooper Works Mini now has to be parted out.

No, it seems it didn’t fall off the deck…

But plenty of damage was sustained.

Few, if any, panels were spared damage.

Yep, it’s a genuine JCW car,

1967 Datsun Roadster 7-fer

We’ve featured several two-fers and a few three-fers, but this is our first seven-fer.  It’s also located about one hour east of my home town AND involved brown!

The buyer of this lot gets seven roadsters, including two nice, complete cars, two closer to parts car status and three in between.  A bunch of additional parts are also included.  If this is the deal for you, you know who you are!

$26K is not a lot of money for what you get here, but it takes a special buyer to take this on – one with lots of storage space and time.  Maybe these will appear on a future episode of Fast ‘n Loud?

Here they are in some form of storage.

Here they are outside.  It’s not clear how many moved under their own power, but we do see brown!

Let’s get a closer look at the brown one.  It’s one of two claimed to be very nice and complete.

It towed???

Interior looks nice.

It even has an engine.

This white one is the other complete car.

Nice interior has modern seats, or maybe just old seats covered in velour.

As we move down the line, they get less and less complete, but some do have hardtops!

Another brown or gold one!

Good race car candidate.

Parts or race car?

See comment above…

The lucky buyer gets lots of extra parts, including at least two doors and one fender.  It’s not clear whether the truck/container comes with the deal.

Even more parts!

One and a Half Citroen Meharis

As is often the case with true Oddimobiles, this is a package deal with a rolling chassis (with title) and a donor car with the mechanical bits.  If you really love Citroen Meharis – like us – this could make for a great project!

The reddish one has a title and the white one has the engine and trans, but no title.  Supposedly, the chassis on the white one is not in good shape – thus the swap plan.

A great many new and used parts come with this sale and the seller has done a great job with the photos.  Are you willing to take on this big project to end up with something like this?

These don’t look like much when disassembled.
Of course, there’s not that much to them, in general.
Just add engine, trans and body parts!
Extra engine!
The white one looks complete, but apparently has rust issues underneath.
Engine is still in place in the white one.
Here’s the front/grill.
Side panels and other bits!
New dash!
Lots ‘o new parts!
Plenty of manuals are included, as well as what appear to be parts receipts.

Ad text:

Mehari A (looks red in the pictures)
title in my name
70.000 mi. (no guarantee that mileage is correct)
no engine, no transmission
rolling
body in fairly good condition, with very few minor cracks
frame in good condition
side panels have also very few minor cracks and small, but fixable, damage in rear
US (headlights) version front grill in good condition
suspension in good working condition
windshield glass in good condition, and windshield frame that requires only minor work

New Parts
I have spent over 2000$ in new parts (I also have all original invoices), including:
European (headlights) version front grill (incl. frame) and rear panel
matching complete front headlights set
hood
dashboard
front floor cover
2 cylinders, complete pistons
electronic ignition with high tech coil
and too many other parts to list (see picture)

Mehari B (looks white in the pictures) as donor car for mainly engine and transmission
no title
62.408 mi. (definitely has more mileage); previous owner said that engine was replaced.
rolling
body and frame in bad condition
transmission should be OK, but I never drove it – previous owner drove it in Florida, and then parked it for 20+ years
engine, with outside oil filter, turns over freely
Engine, transmission, and all engine parts are complete as I bought it 5 years ago, and should be put into Mehari A. The car will have other usable parts.

Other
Additional engine that turns over only 350 degrees, with inside oil filter.
Engine and transmission parts from another engine, many other spare parts, 2 spare wheels, brake drums, etc. Some may be good, others not – I never checked.
I also have manuals and books that come with the Mehari mainly in English, some in German, and also 1 repair/restore book in 5 languages (192 pages with many illustrations/drawings). Unfortunately, I have no soft top, but the frame is in OK condition. 2 out of the 4 seats could probably be restored.

If you buy it, I can tell and show you how to fix the cracks (no polyester) to make them look as good as new.

I am interested to sell everything AS IS only in 1 package, and not in separate parts, because I need the space for my ongoing other car project. What you see on the pictures is what you get – sale is final, no returns, NO REFUND, no warranty, no guarantee!! Willing to keep them stored for another month after full payment. If you pick them up, I can help load it. Willing to ship nationally and internationally, but you will have to arrange  for shipping, handling and payment.  For questions and additional pictures, please email me or 717 xxx xxxx.

Short Type 2: Project car or Objet d’Art?

Here we have a shortened VW Bus, much like that sold be Gas Monkey Garage at Scottsdale this year, but in rather worse condition.

This bus has no engine, trans or title and is claimed to be rusted out.  This is likely going to be an art object at this point, but would sure be a cool one.  Why not cut off that front end and mount it such that you have a bus emerging from a wall?  One could do so and then sell off the doors and anything else that is still in useful condition.

If that’s your thing, contact this seller and be ready to move this thing yourself!  The seller lists $1 as the price, but that might be a placeholder.

$1?

It does look like there could be some salvageable parts here.  Clearly, it’s been used as its own strange form of art, though it might have been a shop van before that.

Here’s more evidence of shop van usage.

Ad text:

Hello I have a VW bus that has been cut in half and shortened to half its original length. Its been sitting for many years and is totally rusted to the point that its probably not ever going to see the road again. It does not have an engine nor title. It would make a great art piece or some sort of funky furniture piece in the right setting? It is a head turner for sure. This would also have to be moved by flat bed trailer to its new home.

Almost No Info and Almost No Car

This is listed as a project car, but that’s a bit of a stretch.  The only info listed in the ad says automatic and fuel: electric.  It looks to me like there’s no trans and no engine or motor.

Clearly, this was a shotgun target, so it’s comical that someone thinks he or she can get $1500 for it!

Be Prepared for 2027!

Perhaps one day, the 1987-only Monte Carlo Aero Coupe and its Pontiac Grand Prix twin will be so collectible that clones will exist and/or rusty hulks will be worth restoring.  They are already collectible by 80s standards, after all, but that means only so much in terms of value.

Regardless, you can be prepared for that day with this Monte Carlo Aero rear window and C-pillar section.  In 2027, the Aero Coupe will be forty years old.  Maybe that’syour target date.  Now you just need a place to store this oddity.

Heaven, or Hell? A guy with a bunch of early Mustang parts.

Here was have some sort of parts business or hoarder.  I’m not sure which.  The first photo is the reason I posted this one.

While that’s genuinely scary (and cool!), there is a higher level of organization evident in the other images.  Maybe the first image shows the ‘pre-sorting’ table?  Oddly, the seller states he must sell these Mustang parts soon, but also says he’ll buy your parts.  Hmm.
