Super-rare in the US: Honda City Turbo II

Honda hasn’t, so far, been known for turbochargers, but this tiny hatchback is an exception to that rule.  This is not officially a Kei car due to size, but, trust me, it’s small.
I’ve never driven one, but would love to – a tiny, turbocharged engine in a really tiny car. What’s not to love?  These put out about 110HP and weighed almost nothing.  We never officially got these in the US, but they pop up from time to time – sometimes with scooters included.

This is a very rare, fun little car to drive and is in great condition – especially considering its age. Only 122k miles. Powered by a 1.2L Turbo Charged engine, it is one of the few factory turbo charged vehicles Honda ever produced. Designed to seat 4 adults comfortably, it has more interior room than one would think. The aggressive styling sets this car apart from the pack with large fender flares and a bulldog treatment.  It’s hard not to smile when you see this going down the road.

The interior is in decent condition.  The dash is in great shape – no cracks, and the digital speedometer works great. The front seats have seat covers on them as they appear to have been replaced at some point in this little car’s life.  They are pictured with and without the covers installed.

This car has an Electronic Controlled Wastegate for improved fuel efficiency. Built in April 1985, it has the Composite Connecting Rods that were standard in the March 1985 and subsequent models.  This was a feature to reduce rotational mass and further improve the already great gas mileage these cars get. It is mechanically sound and drives well.  A very unique piece of Honda History!

Offered at $8995 you won’t find a more rare and fun car at this price! This car was LEGALLY imported! It was NOT imported under a loophole, so there is no chance that it can be seized by the government. This car will come with a CLEAN, CLEAR, VALID VA TITLE, and a U.S. Customs Release.

From Wiki: “The City Turbo was the brainchild of Hirotoshi Honda, son of Honda founder Soichiro Honda as well as founder and owner of Mugen. In the early 1980s Mugen was a small tuning company that was beginning to make its mark producing performance parts for motorcycles and automobiles, but was yet to gain recognition outside of racing circles. When he created the City Turbo, Hirotoshi took one of Honda’s most unassuming vehicles and successfully turned it into an aggressive street rocket, considered to be well ahead of its time. Impressed, Honda took Hirotoshi’s idea and made a production version, introduced in September 1982.In November 1983, the intercooled Turbo II joined the lineup. Flared fenders, wings, sideskirts and graphics combined for a much more pugnacious appearance, making its “Bulldog” nickname very fitting. In late 1984 the original Turbo was discontinued while the Turbo II continued in production..”
