Sportbak – Enough Said.

Yes, folks, it’s the infamous Nissan Pulsar Sportbak.  The idea here was that the car could be used three ways – as a ‘mini wagon'(shown), a hatchback using a different hatch or open air with no hatch at all and the t-tops found on most, if not all, of these cars.  Yes, this one comes with both tops!

With 139K and a manual trans, this has potential.  According to the seller, you can swap the timing belt and you’re good to go (?).  At least one interior shot would have been nice, though, as we no no idea as to the car’s condition.  The car is in Wisconsin, but is rumored to have come from the south, so one can hope rust hasn’t crept in.

Side note:  Apparently, these Sportbak tops were dealer-installed, so the Nissan parts distribution centers and dealers were stuck with thousands after the program died.  Where did they all go?

I think I see t-tops.  Paint isn’t great, but the exterior doesn’t show major signs of damage.

How about a closeup of the Sportbak awesomeness?  These pieces were all dark great, which was ‘interesting’ against some exterior colors.

The seller didn’t mention the missing intake piece/hose. Hmm.

I have a 88 Nissan pulsar nx se. recently had the head gasket replaced and the head studs replaced with ARPs but the timing belt is damaged and needs to be replaced, and the oil/coolant needs to be changed/added, so yes this is a project car. What it has going for it is the fact it has the rare Sportbak along with the stock backend, it’s the SE trim and has the CA18de, and is a manual. it came from down south and has no body panel rust on it. it’s a solid car, i just ran out of funds to do the timing belt. can email pics upon request. I am open to reasonable offers.
