Shorty Falcon. Never Ask Why.

The seller says it’s “hard to put a price on this unique vehicle”, but never mentions the significant body mods.  It appears this has been made into a two-seater, but the wheelbase is the same, as the Falcon trunk was not originally this long.

They say desert people do crazy things, and it’s important to note that this is near Palm Springs.  All the green seen in the images is the result of either a rare rain (’tis the season) and/or sprinkler systems.

The title to this post say it all – we’re not going to ask the obvious question.  Anywho, this is a guaranteed conversation piece at any event.  Just note that this is a six cylinder car – too bad, as this would have more cache with a built 260 or 289 under the hood.  In the good news department, this has a column-shifted manual trans.

Given there’s no asking price, we can’t criticize as we usually would.  What’s this worth to you?  You have to admit it’s oddly cool!

Yep, it’s short.  Maybe these are doors from a four-door fitted to a two-door with the roof shortened and back seat area removed?  It almost looks like a Ranchero, but not quite.

Here’s a closeup of the messy B- and C-pillar execution.

From here, it’s just a ’63 Falcon, which is a good thing, these days.

From the rear, you can see the trunk cutout, so it’s not a Ranchero.  Sadly, there’s no interior trunk shot – was it extended all the way to the back of the seats??

Interior is what we call “cheap custom” or “generic custom” with aftermarket seat covers and plain door panels.  Console is nice for those who take their own coffee to cars n’ coffee.

Cluster and wheel are original, thankfully.  Also, that column shift runs a manual transmission for three-on-the-tree action!

Here’s a closeup of the plain door panel.  It’s not tattered, but it has little style.  That might be “Putt-Putt carpet” dyed grey.

Were you thinking this was a hot rod?   Nope, it has an inline six.
