Mystic SVT pizza?

Do you remember the 1996 Mystic Cobra?  This was a limited edition SVT Cobra Mustang Coupe (no Convertibles were made) with special BASF paint that looked green, purple or gold depending on viewing angle.  2,000 were built – er…painted – out of something like 7,500 total coupes.

This one  has low miles and appears to be in good shape, although the ad has only four photos.  This was the first year of the DOHC 4.6L V8, as well; so the HP number is much higher than 1995, but some will argue about torque…  Regardless, these 90s Cobras have bargain performance potential these days. This one adds limited rarity and hasn’t been modified much nor beaten to hell (yet).

$10,000 BIN with offers accepted (too bad it’s not an auction were we can see market value…)
08/08/2013:  Appears to have ended unsold.

Very purple here…

The photos don’t show the color changes all that well – these look really cool or really weird in person, depending on your perspective.  We think they’re cool.

Interior is basic 1996 Cobra, which isn’t terrible and isn’t great.  SVT signature white gauge faces can be seen here, as can a HIDEOUS steering wheel cover that we’d ditch in a heartbeat.

***LIMITED EDITION MYSTIC 1996 FORD MUSTANG COBRA  – Collector’s Edition Mystic Cobra # 1543 of only 2000 manufactured. Ford patented Mystic Paint only for the 1996 Mystic Ford Mustang Cobra — it flip flops a range of colors from purple, green, gold, root beer, blue, to black depending on lighting and angle.
Non-smoker, owned since 2000, never raced, no interior tears, garage kept, no rust, always used synthetic oil, runs like new!  No mechanical issues. Has close to 88,000 miles, all highway miles. New NITTO NT555 Extreme ZR P245/45ZR17 tires. Plus two K&N air filter kits included. Flowmaster exaust, and short shifter (both previous owner’s choice). Will be sold in AS IS condition.

Minor Flaws:  – Back window tinting is a bit wavy – due to defroster; vehicle has had body work, due to previous accident in 2008, was painted professionally on passenger side and hood, with BASF VIN # original Ford paint has all new front lights – no yellowish acrilic;  Original wheels have cosmetic superficial flaws where tire guys took them off with hard tools; lastly the check engine light comes on due to the catalitic converter having pin holes causing the O2 sensor to throw the code.   Price is FIRM, but will consider a decent offer.
