Mitsubishi Three-Wheeled Truck

Mitsubishi made several variants of the three-wheeled truck in its early days.  The seller claims this is a 1960 model, which would be near the end of the run.  This could be a variant of the Mizushima, but there were other names for these.  Frankly, it’s hard to find one that looks just like this, but the seller does include a picture of the Mitsu data plate, so it seems legit.

Bad news here is no engine or trans is included in the deal.  I have no idea what one could swap into this, but I imagine a motorcycle engine could fit, depending on size.  The original was a single-cylinder, 309cc unit.

Supposedly, this is carpool lane legal in California, but I have to wonder what top speed one would get out of this. Anywho, this would be ultra-cool for someone with the skills to put together the right power- and drivetrain combination.  Oh, and they might as well fabricate a pickup bed while they’re at it.  Given the work needed, one must hope that the bidding stays mild and the price stays low.

Styling is ‘unique’, to say the least.  Curvy front is pretty cool, though.

From here, this just looks like a small truck.

Interior is fairly car-like.

This angle shows it needs a lot of interior work, however.

Here’s a close-up of that groovy armrest.

And…yes, it is a Mitsu!
