Minup: Ex-Red Bull Mini Pickup

Let’s get this out there: The Suzuki X90 represents the Holy Grail of ex-Red Bull vehicles. With that out of the way, this Mini is a close second and, well, it’s the only other choice.

Under all the pickup oddness is a 2007 non-S Mini with an automatic and 71K miles. The seller has toughened this one up with racks, big tires and such. With or without those mods, this should be a fairly reliable little trucklet with some level of utility, though it’s only a two-seater. Sadly, an automatic is present. We imagine the Venn Diagram showing Red Bull field salespersons and manual transmission operators has little to no overlap. Oh well.

From this angle, the add-ons stand out more than the body mod.
Front reveals Cooper S hood and massive skip plate.
Here’s the small bed with its cool, custom tailgate.
Yes, it is hinged.
Cool wood-look floor lifts to reveal storage.
Interior seems pretty standard. Too bad we can’t see behing the front seats to see how that area is finished.
Engine appears to be stock, aside from the aftermarket hot air intake.

Moving and need sold!

This is a custom 2007 Mini Cooper Truck. It used to be a Red Bull Mini Cooper but has been professionally modified to be a capable and functional pickup truck. The coolers that used to house the red bull cans have been removed and a custom composite wood bed that is weather, scratch, and drop resistant has been installed. The bed features a locking storage compartment that hinges up and is capable of holding tools, gear, groceries, you name it! The truck (yes, it can now be called that!) features a custom lift, custom tube bumpers and skid plate, off-road lights, custom roof rack and spare tire mount, custom exhaust, brand new BFG KO2 All-terrain tires (LESS THAN 80 MILES ON THEM!), and so much more. It runs PERFECT and is quite quick compared to stock due to the significant weight reduction! The vehicle is babied and has never been taken off-road, it has only been garage kept and under cover even when inside.

Everything about this car is unique and has been gone through/worked on by qualified professionals. A lot of $$ has gone into this car and nothing has been overlooked. The truck just had a complete check-up and had all engine seals checked/replaced, fluids flushed and topped off, engine tuned, etc. I have ALL receipts and a detailed list of EVERYTHING that has been done to the vehicle. I will include a list of some of the customizations below but there really is too much to list! Please feel free to contact me and I am happy to talk about the truck!

It is one-of-a-kind and you cannot go anywhere without people giving thumbs-up, waving, taking pictures, or just stopping to ask: “Is that a MINI??”

I have many more detailed pictures of the car, as well as a walk around video, and can provide a link to them if requested. Feel free to contact me to come see the car in person or do a test drive.

Some of the modifications:
-Custom lift
-Custom front and rear tube bumpers with full-size trailer hitch receiver in the rear and front skid plate (also features a custom skid plate mounted on the underside to protect the oil-pan/engine) and off-road Hella lights and flood lights on the front bumper
-Custom composite wood truck bed (with hinges and lockable storage compartment)
-Custom truck bed sides and sealed cab rear wall with bed-liner coating
-Custom roof rack with LED lights (VERY bright) and custom built spare tire carrier
-Custom exhaust (now sounds like a truck- not too loud, but smooth)
-Custom rims with BFG All-Terrain KO2 215 65 R16 tires that are BRAND NEW (less than 80 miles on them)
-Blacked out trim

AND SO MUCH MORE!

Sadly, the automatic removes pretty much any reliability from the equation, and is a deal breaker. The autos (CVTs!) were notoriously bad, and expensive to repair. To the point of class action lawsuits being filed against Mini / BMW.
Otherwise? what a groovy little runabout.
