It’s not a Bronco, it’s not a Blazer…it’s a Ramcharger.

Even better, it’s a Ramcharger Prospector SE Royal Edition!  I remember a Ramcharger Prospector in the neighborhood when growing up.  Although I’m a Bronco guy, this always seemed like a cool, obscure alternative.

It’s really too bad we never got the third generation Ramcharger, which was only available in Mexico.  I once saw one around ten years ago and wondered what the hell it was!  Regardless, our subject car claims low miles and appears to be only lightly upgraded.  The 360 was the top engine choice and is present here, which we’ll take.  Sadly, we don’t know exactly what makes this an SE Royal edition, but we do know that the Prospector had a cool exterior badge with crossed miner’s picks (visible in the first image below).  Don’t you want it now?

Up for auction today is my 1984 Dodge Ramcharger Royal SE Prospector 4×4! This truck is known around here as “The Beast.” It’s large, it’s heavy, loud and drinks a good amount of gas. This truck is my current daily driver, and, whenever I feel like, it, my off-roader! 4×4 High and Low gears work great, this thing will climb nearly anything you put in front of it (gotta be realistic though…don’t roll it!!) I’m figuring that if you are looking at this listing you already like and want a Ramcharger and are just shopping for ‘the one.” Well, this on is pretty much stock, a few extra add-ons, I put a 750 CFM Edelbrock carb on it, there are a few ‘ignition enhancers’ on it that were there when I purchased it. Shy of that, she’s stock. The tires are 32″ (stock is 31″). Great truck, you need to pump the gas pedal about 30 times before it’ll start in the cold mornings (manual choke, too). But once it’s warmed it runs awesome! Again, not a new rig, 30 years old. But an awesome truck! They simply DO NOT make them like this anymore!!  If you have ANY questions please e-mail. Thanks!!
