Fiat 124 Spider Turbo – Run Away!

In great shape, these are appealing cars.  The Fiat already had fun to drive going for it, in terms of handling, but the turbo was a way to try to keep the engine competitive late in its long lifecycle.  We’re fans of these cars here at Oddimotive, but there might be some subtle red flags related to this car.

This might well have some potential, but nothing in the ad text is good news.

“Paint is oxidized but should buff out ok.” – Okay, that might be true
“pretty dry..” – …but not dry.
“Lost the key but it used to start right up clear clean title on hand.” – Title, great, but you don’t know if the car runs and you offer no way to find out.  Hmm.

Surely, this isn’t the worst Fiat Spider Turbo out there, but it would need to be close to the best to fetch $4,900.

$4,900 (no way in hell)

How long has this little guy been sitting in the yard?  The tarp didn’t survive.  Notably, the turbo decal is in place behind the front wheel opening.

Once the tarp died, the plastic window didn’t stand a chance.  Now you have to worry about water in the interior.

Is there any chance rodents don’t live here?  Granted, this looks complete, but I can smell it through my monitor.  The saving grace is it’s presumably in a dry area.

This turbo I4 has potential, but who knows what it needs?  Collection of ‘tree droppings’ doesn’t add confidence.
