Boring Mitsu Eclipse Automatic with Art by Keith Haring’s Former Roommate

Remember the third generation Eclipse?  Yes, it’s the one that ditched turbocharged, all-wheel-drive fun in favor of a decent V6 and styling details from a Pontiac Grand Am.  Most enthusiasts have tried to forget this iteration.  Why, then, is a automatic-equipped one here?  It’s all in the “art.”

Ignore the art and this is a hideously overpriced Eclipse with relatively low miles (83K) and relatively few needs (engine mounts, a power window motor and some sunroof work).  It turns out that the artist, Kenny Scharf, is well known; but it’s not clear that the car comes with any proof that he actually painted this.  Even if that proof exists, we have no idea how to put a value on this one.

Well, the ad is certainly creative.  For a true art car, though, we’d like to see more art and less plain silver.

This car is loved by all who see it. It’s a one-of-a-kind graffiti, mural, street art collectable car. It runs and is fast.
