A better Monza?

Not too long ago, we pondered where all the Monza had gone. The example which inspired us was a four-cylinder variant, which is far from exciting.  Today’s subject car at least contains eight cylinders, even if it was delivered with the 262 rated at a blistering 110 horsepower.  Better news here is that the owner swapped in a 350 at some point recently.

This example looks complete and clean, although the paint looks pretty dull.  Might it buff out?  Would you bother?

Ad text:

Hello, Thanks for looking at my ad. I purchased this car to try to relive my youth. I owned 3 of these cars (H Bodies) in the 80’s and early 90’s. I had more fun than I deserved in these cars and thought it would be fun to have another. As soon as I opened the door I knew I would buy this car, I know this is weird but the smell of the 70’s interior took me down memory lane….it smells just like the ones I owned. After bringing the car home and introducing it to my wife she quickly reminded me how I am a little bigger around the waist now compared to my high school days and not as flexible either (truth hurts). Since I don’t pay much attention to logic or reasoning I set out to make a tire fryer. I had the under powered original 262 V8 boat anchor replaced with a factory roller cam 5.7 350 one piece rear seal V8 out of a low mileage mid 90’s chevy full size wagon. To say I am happy with the results is an under statement. This car is a blast to drive. You can easily command the car to roast the tires at a dead stop or even at 20 mph by simply mashing the gas pedal, power braking is never needed to burnout with this car. Even better in my opinion is the fact the car is a sleeper. Most people have no idea what this car is much less think its fast or mean. The surprise factor is really cool when you blow an unsuspecting import cars doors off. This car is really solid for a 37 year old car and very dependable too. The car would make an incredible drift car, drag car, restoration or my favorite, daily driver with secret attitude. The paint is dull and could use a buff job. The interior is intact but the carpet is worn and faded as well as the front seats being cracked. The factory radio is there but does not work. The clock on the dash does not hold time. The air conditioning needs recharged because of the motor swap. The exhaust is new and quite, all the lights work and is ready to drive. The odometer reads 117,xxx miles and is accurate for the car itself but will go up do to driving it. If you have any questions please email me. Sorry for the long winded ad. Thanks for looking and happy bidding. Car is sold as is with no written or expressed warranty or guarantee. Buyer is responsible for pickup and/or delivery including all cost for shipping. FYI the only reason I am growing up and selling this car is because my oldest daughter is starting college soon. I am offering this car at a price lower than what I have in it, please don’t email me with a low ball offer. You can not build this car for what I’m selling it for already built. NO RESERVE
