Welcome the 80s with a 242GT!

This isn’t our first Volvo 242GT, but these are absolutely worth posting!  No, they don’t offer a lot of power, but they offer cool rarity and their own brand of sporty on top of the already awesome brick.

Any concerns you have over power and handling can easily be addressed by a visit to IPD’s web site.  I’d start with quality, modest lowering springs and sway bars to get this closer to stock appearance and with some actual ride quality.  I’m a little torn on the wheels, but I like the color-keyed approach and would keep ’em around for at least a while.  The bad news here is really the lack of a listed price.  Just how proud of this is the seller??  If only a couple thousand, this could be a deal.

Bike not included?

The faded stripes may be cooler than new replacements.  Twin exhaust tips aren’t bad, but are in the wrong location for a brick.  Routing might be ‘interesting’.

Interior is tired, but has its red trim intact.

Rear looks better.

Seller included a pic of the ad…very cool!

Hello for you consideration is this very rare 1980 volvo 242 gt hand crank sun roof

Pros
Rebuilt engine runs smooth and strong. New clutch kit, new bearings and seals, newly installed later model trans, original faded patina paint looks very cool in my opinion. rust free very dry. 17 inch bbs lm replica wheels, custom exhaust, nice sporty tone, not loud.

Cons
missing drivers door panel, lowered by cutting springs so it is bouncy, drivers seat belt is broken wont retract, power steering is disconnected, needs over drive rewired to the button on shifter knob, with a little work it will be a solid driver, needs some attention. This car is well worth the little bit of effort to get it back to its formal glory. It’s a very rare model volvo and I never seen another in the flesh. I have 3 old cars and I am moving so space is limited need to let this one go.
