This is Gloria. Don’t call her Cedric.

Many people know that the second generation Infiniti M offered in the 2003 and 2004 model years was a derivative of the Japan-market Gloria, which, oddly, had a near-twin called the Cedric.  Roll the clock back to the 60s and this was the Nissan Gloria offering.

This car offers a four cylinder engine and three-speed manual on the column.  Three on the tree – that’s luxury!

Many will see American automaker influence in this vehicle.  Ford headlamps?  Dodge Dart profile?  This “small in the US” car would have had serious presence in Japan.

This is 60s Japanese luxury, in case you’ve never seen it.

1969 Nissan Gloria

This 1969 Nissan Gloria is a rare sight this side of the Pacific.  The Nissan Gloria was the image of luxury vehicles in Japan in the 60’s and early 70’s being driven by the Japanese Imperial Family.  These cars are commonly modified in Japan with the same styling as many of the U.S. counterparts such as the Lincoln Continental and Cadillac’s.

This Gloria is a very original example being almost completely stock down to the OEM hubcaps.  This particular car was equipped with a 3 speed column shift manual transmission which is in great working order.  The white interior offers a nice contrast to the black exterior with large bench seats front and back.

This is the only Gloria of this body style that we currently know of stateside, so you can be assured you won’t be coming across many of them. Be the only person at the car show with this amazing Nissan Gloria.
