The “other” Infiniti

When Infiniti launched in 1989, it had the much-hyped (relatively speaking) Q45 and this, the M30.  This was a Japan market Leopard lightly gussied up to be an American luxury coupe.  Interestingly, it shared a lot with the Z31 300ZX, which had just been replaced.

The convertible version wasn’t available at launch and didn’t leave Japan as a convertible.  Coupes went to ASC’s facility in Santa Ana, CA for conversion.  Interestingly, when the M30 died, 240SXs started going to the same shop for the same treatment.  The M30 was the only convertible Infiniti until the G37 Convertible launched.

It’s unusual to see any M30 in decent condition unless you’re at the Lane Motor Museum.  Interestingly, though, it does seem like the coupes are now more rare than the convertibles – maybe the coupes were all worn out, while the person who paid this much money for a convertible took care of it and kept it longer?  Who knows?  In any case, this is claimed to be Grandpa’s car, with 82K miles and it’s the apparently rarest color, as it seems most of these are black or pearl white.

Unfortunately, these all came with automatics.

Monroney label is a nice touch!

Selling our excellent condition 1992 Infinity M30 convertible. Only 82K original miles! New Michelin tires, brakes and tune up. Everything works! Ice cold AC, power windows, excellent leather interior, automatic transmission, upgraded stereo with CD, electric top, great gas mileage, all service records since new, genuine Infinity service (shop) manual. There were very few of these cars that were made in to convertibles. Bet you didn’t know this car is built on the Nissan “Z” chassis and has the same (but de-tuned) V-6 engine. This is a great driving car, runs perfect and looks good. The car was purchased for $35K, you are paying less than 10% of that and it will go at least another 100K miles. This is a steal! Here is the NADA book value for this car, Average retail is $4175, High retail is $6050 and our car certainly warrants that! Here is the link, http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1992/Infiniti/M30/2-Door-Convertible/Values. Think about what a new one would cost in comparison in today’s market. Because of CL scammers, please only phone for information, no emails or texts! Thanks! Give a call to schedule a time to come see! Skip 213-xx-xxxx
