Steve Job’s Volvo?

Here we have a ’73 Volvo 142 with needs, but with loads of potential.  As far as I know, this has nothing to do with Steve Jobs, but it’s in Cupertino, so it SHOULD have something to do with Apple.  What else is there?

I had a brief experience with a ’74 142, which had Bosch K-Jet mechanical fuel injection.  This ’73 would be a much better choice and is in similar condition to the one I had.  So, I recommend it to any interested party.  This has EFI, which means it’s much more tunable.  The seller indicates a V8 could go in this car, which is true, but I’d love to see it get some IPD hop-up parts and perhaps megasquirt to get maximum power out the B20 engine.

Things look stockish here, save for the blacked-out Virgo wheels from a 242 or later.

Whoa…spoiler.

Interior isn’t bad for one of these.  Dash cap is available for under $100.  Seat material isn’t so easy to find, but a shop should be able to get close.

Here’s the D-Jet B20, but with aftermarket cone filter.  Surely a proper hose can be found to rid this of the wacky universal one.  Those really bug me, but I don’t know why.

Runs, needs front brakes, it is a good project car, I just can’t finish it, to many projects in progress.
New: tires, shocks, fuel pump, water pump, $1,500 in new parts, I have everything needed to finish
it up except a paint. No smog required, it is possible to put a V8 in it if you wanted too. Clear title through June, not salvaged, second owner. It would need to be trailered due to front brake issue.
