Sporty Honda

Here’s a very nice little Honda Z600.  These are very cool cars and were positioned as the sporty alternative to the N600 “sedan”, which still only had two doors, but a more formal roofline.  Some day…

We’ve always loved the rear window trim.

36 horsepower and two cylinders.

Overhead console FTW!

These shifters are almost as cool as those in Citroen 2CVs.

We like ‘for scale’ shots and this ad contains a couple of ’em.  Here’s one:

Very Original 1972 Honda Z600 Coupe. California car from new. Both blue Plates. Sold new at Emery’s Honda in San Jose, CA on 9-2-1972.

Body is mint, original paint. Has a couple of creases, dings and chips, but has been garaged and stored indoors all its life. Paint still shines. Zero rust rot anywhere. Floors are perfect and have never been wet. See photos.
The car has 71450 Original Miles. Miles are backed up by every receipt since the car was new. It has only changed hands a couple of times and is completely documented. I have original owners manual and warranty paperwork as well.
The car starts instantly, idles smooth and does not smoke. It runs EXCELLENT. Shifts very smooth. Tranny for this year was sycro and really makes it nice to drive. You would think by its size and a small 600cc 2 cylinder that it would not get out of its own way. That is not the case at all. It will surprise you that it can keep up with modern traffic, including the freeway.
I drove it 25 miles just today including one stretch over 60 MPH.
All lights, signals, headlights, console lights, wipers are all working. The only thing I know of not working is the Tach.
Interior is servicable. Headliner is perfect, overhead lights are nice, rear seat does not look as if its ever been sat in. The rear seat side panels still have the factory plastic covering them, they are perfect and have not been uncovered from new. Rear hatch area is perfect. Driver seat has been redone and passenger seat needs to be. Carpets are original. Door panels mint. Dash and guages are very nice. Top of dash has cracked at speaker area. Glovebox is clean and has the factory owners manual in it. the spare tire has a cool little compartment that pops open. It looks like new inside. Still has original tools, jack, spare.
All glass is free of chips or cracks. The rubber seals around the car are basically very good (with exception of drivers door seal, work). All rubber is still soft and nice looking and lenses are all bright and clear. Evident of the car being pampered its whole life.
Most of the service reciepts are from East Bay, CA Honda dealerships. Factory OEM parts were used when service was done. Off the top of my head I know of Brakes, exhaust, engine crankcase seals and carb being replaced by Honda over the years.
It sat as a display piece and with a car collector for the past 20 years. Was put back on the road and recently freshened with tires, Fuel lines, brake work, battery (honda battery).
I am going to offer it once before it goes back into storage. Please ask questions before bidding. I can hold for 30 days while transportation arrangements are made. I can have delivered to Port of oakland for $250 and Los Angeles Area for $350. Title is clear and it can be shipped worldwide. Or come drive it home.
This is a very fun car to drive. It gets attention wherever it is driven and currently micro-cars are hot. There is plenty of information available about these cars on the internet.
Included with the car is a bunch of mostly genuine Honda spare parts. A few full sets of gaskets, points, honda belt, filters, brake seals etc…
I have a photo album of over 125 photos and video of it driving and running. Just ask for the link.
