Rarely Seen Alfetta Sedan

The wonderful, rear-wheel drive GT we later knew as the GTV started life as the Alfetta and had a sedan sibling early in life.  This rarely-seen beauty offers the GTV experience – complete with high-revving 2.0-liter four cylinder – with the added practicality of four doors!

The seller claims to have done the mechanical work over the last four years to get this car to run and that he/she is selling due to leaving the country in a few months.  The cosmetic work remains, but doesn’t look too daunting to these eyes.  Is $3.5K – including original chrome bumpers not shown in the images – a deal?  To me, that depends heavily on just what mechanical work was done.  It’s too bad this is a ’76 model, and not a smog-exempt ’75…

These have classic lines – one can certainly see how this might have influenced the later BMW E21 adn E30 3ers.

Chiseled – not curvy – lines paved the way for later 70s and 80s styling.

Front end is unmistakably Alfa!

Interior is just what you’d expect in a cool, mid-70s Italian car – a wonderful place to row this twin-cam four through the gears.  Okay, it’s wonderful in its vintage nature and layout, but this one needs some work.  Good news is the dash and instrument panel look good.  Seats have been covered with hideous blue (?!) covers.  I’m guessing what lies beneath needs work.

Yes, the blue seat covers carry over to the rear.  Hmm.

A headliner replacement is also in order!  I’d worry that it might rain mouse droppings – or mice – inside this car.
