Odd doesn’t always mean old

Had you forgotten these half-assed, late efforts yet?  They’re already rarities on the road.

Neither is a bad vehicle, but the execution is so similar as to be comical and speaks to the woes of the domestic automakers.  Dealers asked for more vehicles to sell at brand X’s outlets; so HQ spent as little as possible on an existing vehicle to get them something to sell in a new segment.  Both died after one partial generation.  The economy didn’t help the Chrysler, but we doubt it would have made it much longer in any case.

The Lincoln’s interior actually shows it had a budget.  It’s too have the exterior was oddly hard to distinguish from either the big-brother Navigator or the non-luxury Explorer.
