(Help Me) Ronda? Yes, it’s a Rover Honda.

Today’s feature is a Rover 216SE, falsely advertised as a 316. Why is this a Ronda? It’s because this is essentially a rebadged Honda Ballade, which, in turn, was a slightly fancier Honda Civic. If a Sterling is too common for you, this Rover 216 should do the trick.

This example is in Chicago for some reason and has 90K miles on it. The seller provides very little info, but says it’ll need a battery and fluids, as it’s been sitting for about five years. Given offers will be considered, we humbly recommend something under the asking price. If you pick this up cheaply and it turns out it runs well, you’ll have a cool, practical little conversation piece for Cars and Coffee.

Headlights appear to be unique to Rover, as is the badge. We’re not sure about the rest.

Profile is all Honda, but a hint of badge is visible here.

This is something of a money shot, given the badges are clearly visible. It’s not clear whether the world knows what made this an “SE.”

Again, this is mostly Honda, but with a cool badge! Brown color and manual shifters are welcome sights!

How about decent legroom and an extra (?) exhaust?

Bad news: This is a Rover engine, as opposed to a Honda unit. The upside is this is the “big” 1.6L unit, while the 213 version came with a Honda 1.3L. We’re not sure about reliability, though…
