Finally, a complete Honda S600

We’ve posted a couple of these recently, but they’ve been projects and it’s been hard to get a feel for the real value of these.  Finally, a nice, complete one has arrived. Despite a reserve, the starting price was low enough, so the market will speak.

As for the car itself, suffice it to say it’s a favorite of Oddimotive!

The seller provides good info below, so we don’t need to add much.  It seems this was originally yellow but that the paint job is good.  There are minor issues, like a cracked dash, but this one is nice enough that we’ll get a value for a quality driver and can then speculate as to what a restored example might be worth.

The current $7K price is below the selling prices for rough projects.  I’m guessing this will go between $15K and $20K.

$7,050 with 14 bids and reserve not met
03/17/2014 Update:  After failing to meet reserve at $21,312 and again at $19,400, it’s on Craigslist with a $23,00 asking price.

While white isn’t an exciting  color, this is a beautifully odd car.  Note that there may be a red one like it in the background – these types of cars tend to run in packs.

Here’s that funky profile.  Note also there’s something under a cover and some sort of industrial equipment.

Tasty.

The red mats add a bit of flair (not 17 pieces).

There is the cool little four cylinder with its individual, single-barrel carbs.

You are bidding on a very rare 1966 Honda S600 Coupe in great condition. Honda made over 11,000 S600 roadsters and only 1,800 Coupes from 1964-1966, and only 281 Coupes in 1966.  Car is a matching numbers car, meaning has the original engine with only 29736 original miles.  No paperwork to back it up, however, I bought many classic cars from a collector, who I trust and has no reason to lie.
Original paint is Yellow, car was repainted some years ago, very good paint job, still looks and shows good with few blemishes that can be seen in pictures.
Body is great, no dents, dings or scratches, NO RUST at all.
Interior is in great condition, seats are like brand new, door panels are like brand new.
Headliner in good shape.
All gauges work as they should: speedometer, tachometer, fuel, temperature, etc.
Car was parked in a garage for about five years, I drained and cleaned the gas tank, fuel lines, brake lines, changed the spark plugs, changed the oil, put a new battery and car started right up! Hey, it’s a HONDA!
Car starts, runs drives fine, manual transmission shifts fine through all four gears including reverse.
Tires are like new.
All chrome is present in good shape.
Windows roll up and down fine, all electrical components work as well: horn, lights.

Missing the radio.
Tiny chip on windshield in the middle, visible in picture, right above rear view mirror.
Dash has cracks.
If I would keep the car, I would paint it the original Golden Yellow color.

Registration is current with NON-OP status, with no back fees due to DMV, however, license plates and title were lost, so car will come with bill of sale.
Please do not ask to disclose my reserve, but feel free to make offers and ask questions.  You can also contact me at (818)395-1847.
Car is being sold AS-IS with no warranty
I reserve the right to end this auction at any time.
Thank you and happy bidding!
