Electric Oddity: Gizmo by NEVCO

Here we have yet another attempt to save the planet – or is that save us from ourselves?  Regardless, the Gizmo was made and sold by Neighborhood Electric Vehicle Company and is a take on individual, localized-emissions-free transportation.  For better or worse, only 30-something were made.  We just think it’s cool…

In case you wondered, here’s a comparison between this and the much more common Sparrow:  click for link.  This example has low miles and appears to be in good shape, though it’s cause for concern when interior photos are taken from outside the vehicle.  Does the ‘door’ open?

2001 Gizmo Made by NEVCO, Stands for Neighborhood Electric Vehicle Corp.
Made in Oregon and and only 38 of them were ever made.
This one is in almost new condition with only 4900 miles on it. Also has two week battery’s
IT has 8 six volt deep cycle batteries and a on board charger that has a built in 25 foot cord reel that
plugs into any 115-120 volt household receptacle. Gets 40 miles on a full charge and goes up to 45mph.
2 of them have been destroyed so there are only 36 left, There is one for sale at Dezer auto collectors
that has 24.000 miles on it and in worse condition than this one for $14.000.
Will consider part trade for muscle car or dune buggy or? Would love 57 ford or 69 cougar.
Please respond to this add with your number or questions.
Thanks Wally
