Dayuum Van! Daihatsu Hi-Jet is Pure Awesome

Apparently, there has been a Daihatsu Hijet of some sort since 1960.  Who knew?  Regardless, this cool little kei-van is suitably odd today and would be welcomed with open arms at any microcar show.

The seller claims this is a 1970model, but the integrated bumper lamps, etc. sure look newer, as does the interior.   Regardless, any potential buyer just needs to confirm it is registered in the US.  If that’s cleared up, this could be a cool little toy and probably could be quite a useful little vehicle, as long as you have no desire to keep up with freeway traffic.

Bonus!  According to the seller, “Front and both rear sliding door windows rook down.”

I’m a big fan of screen shots posted as vehicle pics.  Custom wheels are a bit funny on this little car.  As a graduate of Oklahoma State University, I approve of the color scheme.

Here’s proof that it has been in a car wash.  Note that it has sliding doors on both sides.

Not only do I love the pink steering wheel, but the “dayuum!” really makes the shot.

Dayuum, that’s a nice interior!
