I’m not sure what car this is based on. The seller simply says it’s a ‘rare Porsche’. 914 is my first guess, but the handbrake is in the wrong place. The seller references 1965, but that’s pre-914. Any thoughts?

From this angle, it’s hard to guess what car this might be, but it does seem to have either a mid- or rear-engine, what with the low hood.
This seems to confirm the mid-engine suspicion, but is it a Fiero?
Interior says 914 in some ways – clearly this was a very narrow car before the kit – but that handbrake is bugging me.
