Oh, It’s Just a Cab

The International RC180, often called the “snub nose” is a cabover truck with something of a following due to its funky, retro looks.  This one’s an Oddimobile because the strange pics grabbed our attention.  It turns out it’s an incomplete project.

It seems the seller was going to mount this on a Chevy S10 frame to make something of a rat rod.  That frame and engine/trans combo are included, but not pictured in the ad, which also includes no price.

If you really want this, it’ll be worth the long conversation with the seller, which will eventually get you to a price.  Note that the seller does say this has some minor rust; so it’s not perfect.

Weird nose?  No, just mounted on a trailer.
Who’s towing whom?
Here’s the cab with its fenders.
There is indeed something of an interior present.

Scout this Out

Here we have a Scout II Patriot Edition, claimed to be one of 200.  The Patriot edition came with a cool red, white and blue color scheme and has a hardtop, unlike the otherwise similar Spirit of ’76 edition.  This car also has the XLC package, which apparently means eXtra Load Capacity and was the tow package.

The seller claims very good mechanical condition and original condition interior.  One photo reveals a minor impact to one rear corner, but it does look straight otherwise. The only interior photos included are almost useless, but don’t bring up major concerns.

I’ve always liked these as cool Bronco alternatives, and the groovy special edition makes this one cooler.  eBay will tell us whether the reserve is realistic…

Less than 200 Scout Patriots ever made!!  This one has all the options XLC, Dana rear differential, the bigger 345 V8, even AC and removable hard top.  The body and interior are in original condition but is very, very nice.  Any specific questions or pics wanted I can provide.  Don’t want to have to sell but need to generate some funds.  Just had a tune up, new fuel pump, filter, wheels and tires.  Brand new custom dual exhaust just installed.  Bought this from a customer of our auto shop and fixed up the running gear to be a nice driver.  The previous owner drove it very little and kept it in storage over the last 20 years.  A great driver as is, or a wonderful frame off restoration candidate for the ultimate, rare, low number classic Scout.  Buyer is responsible for shipping, local pickup on Bainbridge Island, Washington.

Boxed-in Scout II

We love the International Scout II, presumably because it has Bronco capability with the bonus of an Orphaned brand (at least from a consumer vehicle standpoint).  This one appears to be something of a garage fixture and also has a big-ass, 80s/early 90s-style audio system.

The seller indicates this is a non-running truck at the moment, but it looks like it’s in great shape otherwise.  We thought the purpose of the vehicle rollers upon which this truck sits was moving a project car around, but this seller appears to have used them simply to elevate the vehicle to cram more crap under it.  Good news is this garage screams “organized chaos” as opposed to “run away.”

We wonder if any of the boxes come with the car, but it’s hard to tell what they are.  We have some interest in the MTX box, although it’s next to the car, and not under it.

Hardtop appears to be in good enough shape.

Looks innocent enough back here, eh?  On some level, we respect the seller’s resistance to storing boxes inside the truck, but it’s funny it was deemed okay to store them under it.  The maroon interior is groovy.

Whoa – two big amps and four subs!

These look like cheap aftermarket seat covers – maybe it needs seats done, if you care to bother on a truck.
